Privacy Policy

At MellowMe, your privacy is a priority. Our app is designed to give you a safe and personal space for journaling and mood tracking. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is handled, and what choices you have.

1. Your Entries Stay With You
  • All journal entries, moods, and reflections are stored only on your device.
  • MellowMe does not create user accounts, and we cannot see or access your personal entries.
  • If you choose to make backups using iCloud, they remain within your private iCloud account. These backups count toward your iCloud storage limit, and we do not have the ability to read or restore them.
2. Backups - You are in control of your backups:
  • Manual export: You can export your data and store it wherever you like.
  • iCloud backup (optional): If enabled, your information is encrypted and stored securely in your personal iCloud Drive. Apple’s encryption standards apply. Learn more here: iCloud Security Overview.
  • MellowMe never receives a copy of your backups.
3. Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) to better understand how the app is used and to improve the experience for all users.
  • Collected automatically: app launches, updates, session duration, device model, operating system, region/country, and anonymised identifiers (e.g., Firebase Installation ID).
  • What is not collected: your journal entries or anything you type inside the app.
  • Retention: usage data is kept for about 2 months, then deleted. This information is aggregated and cannot be linked back to you personally.
4. Crash Reports
To improve stability, MellowMe uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC).
  • Collected: crash traces, device type, operating system version, and anonymised installation IDs.
  • Not collected: your journals or moods.
  • Retention: crash data is kept for about 90 days. This helps us fix bugs and improve performance.
5. Contacting Us
If you reach out for support, we may collect your hello@mellowme.net to reply to your request. We do not use your email for any other purpose.
6. Your Choices
  • You decide whether to back up your data.
  • You can reset analytics identifiers through your device settings.
  • You can stop sharing crash data at any time by disabling it in iOS settings.
7.  Changes to This Policy
If we make updates, the revised policy will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
