Moving To a New Phone

Moving MellowMe to your new phone is simple, secure, and private. All your mood entries, journals, and voice notes transfer seamlessly while keeping your data fully under your control.

Method 1: Backup & Restore (Recommended)

Step 1: Create Backup on Old Phone
  • Open MellowMe
  • Go to Profile → Backup Entries
  • Confirm backup creation
  • Choose destination: iCloud Drive, Files app, or other cloud storage
  • Wait for backup to complete
What gets backed up:
  • Mood entries & emotions
  • Text journal entries
  • Voice note recordings
  • Colour theme preferences
  • App icon selection
  • Statistics & trends
  • Reflection entries
Step 2: Install MellowMe on New Phone
  • Download from the App Store
  • Open the app and complete setup
Step 3: Restore Data on New Phone
  • Go to Profile → Restore from Backup
  • Find your backup folder (must include backup.json + voice notes)
  • Confirm restoration
  • Wait for data to finish restoring
What gets restored:
  • Full mood & journal history
  • Voice note recordings
  • Personal preferences (themes, icons)
  • Statistics & insights
  • Reflection entries
Method 2: iCloud or Files App

Using iCloud Drive:
  • Backup to iCloud Drive on old phone
  • On new phone, open iCloud Drive
  • Locate backup folder
  • Restore via Profile → Restore from Backup
Using Files App:
  • Save backup to Files app
  • On new phone, open Files
  • Import backup folder
  • Restore inside MellowMe
Method 3: Manual Transfer (Advanced Users)

  • Create backup on old phone
  • Transfer folder using:
    ‍AirDrop (iPhone → iPhone)
    Email (if small enough)
    External storage or computer transfer
  • Import backup on new phone
  • Restore inside MellowMe
